the spacer is bolted to the outer edge of the hub, then the caliper is bolted to the outer edge of the spacer....

Yer it sound like the same thing i have to do. I have to put some spacers in to push the caliper towards the outside of the car.

i got some std cossie discs from a motorfactors for around 30 quid each , i was gonna fit them last night but ive lost my fecking locker key so i have gotta fuck about tonight trying to get the cunts off now.
