1.9 looks identical to that of a 1.6, although it is about 2cm taller IIRC, hence the moniker "Tall Block"
It slots in place of the 1600 perfectly and is a proper block, unlike a lot of 1900 conversion others do, sch as Power Engineering (where a standard 1600 block is overbored, which is dangerous as the cylinder walls on a 1600 cannot safely exceed 1800cc)
The US blocks are actually 1860cc blocks from the US Escort, and bored to 1905cc, which is well inside safe tolerences for these blocks. The difference is the extra lenght of each cylinder, meaning more cpacity is gained thru stroke and not jsut bore.
Euro Engines can be found on the end of 01708 862 806, and are a 2min drive (ten min walk) from Lakeside shopping centre (which is usefull if you're going down there on ya own and have to wait most of the day for your car - I just went to lakeside and amused myself lol)
