Dave - I dont think its the width mate, i think its the profile of the tyre thats the problme.

Although mine were 225 (not 235 like i said earlier, DOH!) my profile was only 35mm.

My cars also lowered on Koni shocks and springs and it wasnt even catching on full lock so i dont think the width has anything to do with it mate. Get a lower profile tyre.
