it will take the same time to warm up (becuase the thermostat will be closed until 82ēc is reached) and it will then control the water temps while there is air flow to the rad

Combine a Saff 4x4 fan switch which cuts in at 88ēc (not the 92ēc standard RST fan switch) and you can lower the water temps a few degrees all round
