Rick, gauges are in accurate and are open to miss interpretation.

Also, these electronic map sensors are accurate enough to do the job (not very in real terms !)

Also, dont forget, air temperature changes the pressure reading slightly.
This is one reason why turbo cars have a charge air temperature sensor to provide compensation
due to the turbo heating up the air when on boost.
