Possibly, mechanical pumps (presuming it is) are a nightmare to bleed, not like an electric pump that will pump air till it gets fuel, mechanical pumps won't pull air till it gets diesel in most cases.
Yeah is mechanical, 306's have the pump driven off the cambelt.
