woke up this morning and noticed all my indicators were stuck on, every now and agian they go off but then flicker, and just stay on agian!?

Ive looked in the handbook to see which fuse was for the indicators and its just say "direction indicators and reversing light", so i removed this and it was still doing it?, does that mean somones put a fuse in the wrong place somewhere along the line?, it says the fuse is a 10amp one, so would it just be a case of pulling the other 10amp ones until the indicators stop flashing?

Cars an R-reg escort gti by the way and i actually washed it just the other afternoon and i used the hosed quite alot on it, maybe some water got in somewhere?, although i rang ford and asked to speak to someone techincal and he said it could be that but its unlikely?
