i work for mercedes dealer ,diesel is your best bet i prefer cdi 270 which goes quite well look out for knocking roll bar links and roll bar bushes ,rear diff leaks,transmission leaks .
also air mass faults and blocked cats.
obviously working on them you only see the faults but if you can afford it go for an e-class cdi 320
