Under no circumstances would I ever just use braided pipe on a fuel line and clamp it with a jubilee clip.

That's fine for oil breathers and such things, but never for fuel, as I don't think you'll get a good enough seal.

I would only do it properly from the filer to the fuel rail, but it would incur a lot of expense.
