Option Drift Club and the UK D1 championship is based at Silverstone Racetrack.

http://www.ukd1.com/

Saturday 17th July- 3rd Round Competition
Sunday 22nd August- 4th Round Competition
Sunday 19th September- 3rd Practice Session
Sunday 3rd October- D1 Final

Practice Events will cost £60 per person, with a maximum of 40 cars per event while Competition events will cost £75 in advance per person or £100 on the day, with a maximum of 45 cars per event.
Spectators pay just £10 per person for the competition events. Spectating at practice events will be free.

The top three placing drifters from each round of the competition events will win prizes which include: HKS vouchers, complete sets of AVON tyres, 76 Racing Fuel and other merchandise from our sponsors as well as some amazing trophies. The first place drifter will walk away with prizes totaling over a thousand pounds. There will also be an overall season winner which will be announced at the D1 Final in October.

PRACTICE

The practice days are run in addition to the competition series so that the pro's can get a little extra practice before the competition rounds and the amateur drifters can get a feel for what drifting is about and get some basic tuition from the OPT professional instructors.
The practice events will take place on the vast expanse of the Silverstone car parks near the main entrance to the site. The day will begin with a driver briefing before starting the event at 9:00am.
One area of the car park will have four different corner arrangements with an instructor in each section. The sections will contain a donut, figure of eight, 180 bend and an s-corner arrangement. Tuition will consist of spending 15 minutes with each instructor to get a basic overview on each of the different sections and as the day runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm, with 4 slots per hour, we hope to be able to give at least 25 people basic tuition throughout the day. This tuition will be offered primarily to novice drifters who have never been to one of our events before. If there is a large demand for tuition then a roster will be made on the day and time slots given out.
The other area of the car park will have a complete loop track section, allowing you to practice your drifting techniques through a seriers of different corners. The track section will be open all day for everyone to practice on. Team drifting can be practiced at the event but for obvious reasons 'side by side' drifting must take place only by mutual agreement.

opt drift club amateur drifter award
This category is for the novice driver who will have had little or no experience of motorsport in general and are new to drifting. Although we will not be able to check the background of every driver that wishes to enter into this section it is requested that each driver take it on them selves to correctly choose the class of event they wish to be entered into to make it a fair competition for everyone who enters this section of the competition.
All entrance to this section will be narrowed down to one overall winner for each of the five competition rounds of the year.
The winner at each event will receive a HKS Voucher, a case of 76 fully synthetic engine oil, a Sony PlayStation 2 and a trophy. The winning amateur drifter will take home hundreds of pounds worth of prizes!
This level of the competition is to highlight up and coming drifters and to give the novice drifter a chance at taking home some prizes at their first competition event.
If you enter this section of the competition and win you will not be eligible to take part, as an amateur drifter at future events but will be limited to the UKD1 professional level event.

ukd1 professional championship

This category is for the more experienced drifter or for someone that has previous experience of motorsport in general, like a track day regular, amateur/professional race or rally driver etc.

As well as the prizes that will be awarded at each event, the top five drivers will also receive series points that will be totaled up at the end and a series winner will be announced at the D1 Final on 3rd October 2004.

3rd 4 points
4th 2 points
5th 1 point

The series winner will receive a '2004 UKD1 Professional Championship' trophy and additional prizes from our sponsors to add to all the other prizes they would win.

team drift (twin drift)

This section of the competition is certainly not for the faint hearted, as it involves two team members going out on the track and doing some side by side drifting. Each team will be able to go out and have two runs, with each member of the team taking the lead on both of there runs. Points will be awarded for speed, style, control, consistency of drifts, closeness of team members during the drifts.

Entry into this event will be limited to those people that have taken part in the UKD1 Professional Championship. There will also be a surcharge for entry into this event to the amount of £75 per team. Depending on demand and time, we may have to limit the total number of teams that take part in this section of the competition.

At each competition event one team will be announced the winners of the team drift competition.

Each team member will receive:

HKS Vouchers, A complete set of AVON Tyres, A case of 76 fully synthetic engine oil, Sony PlayStation 2 and a trophy.

So each member of the team will take home over £1,000 worth of prizes, for an additional entry fee of £37.50 which can be paid on the day or in advance.

So if you think you are a drift master and would like a real challenge then register for the team drift and show us your real skills. OPT Drift Club will be entering a team, EVO Magazine may possibly enter a team, anyone else fancy the challenge?
