I own one a my04 sti with the prodrive pack and its not slow (this IS a standard car). Where they stand apart (evo's included) is going round corners. Anybody who thinks their cosworth can keep up with an modern sti or evo is deludeding themselves on a b-road (with identical drivers). These things are designed to go round corners people. thats all they do, and they have a 10yr technology advance compared to the cosworth

Its true that subaru went softer with the new sti, the weight is signicantly up, but so is the comfort and the safety. It is understeery, but in the same way the new elise is "understeery". Chaneg the suspension settings from "soft and safe" factory settings to the prodrive ones and the car does not understeer.

Mitsibushi attacked at a different angle, while subaru appealed to the masses, they hardened their car (2.0 turns lock to lock) but sacrificed comfort. Every road report has said that the evo is the faster car, but the scooby is the one they'd like to drive more of the time.

Dont get me wrong i love the cosworth, i sat in an escort cosworth when i was 12, fell in love, still want one to this day.

Scoobys are common, but thats because a) theyre cheap to buy (not cheap to run though) b) cos they bloody good and c) if you dont buy a molested one, are mechanically sympathetic, they dont go wrong

yet again, i am refering to the older style wrx when i say they are shite from 3rd yours is a different car altoghether aint it? yours is shite from 2nd joke mate joke
