That is a very important sensor. It's the MAP sensor and is usually mounted upside down (something to do with the effects of gravity on it and to stop contaminants running ino the sensor) on the inner wing of a Cossie. The length of the pipe is critical IIRC. They are also suceptible to vibrations IIRC so have to be mounted off the engine.

If you move it/lengthen the pipe, get the fueling checked in case it has effected it.
