Well, to update, I have put another one of these sensors in and lost another load of coolant Still, the poxy fan is not cutting in, I had though'ts that this one may be fucked anyway as it was out of my old S2 which I was running the fan on ignition live (I can;t remember but probably because of this problem) so I need to try yet another one... Cant see it being anything else, I have only changed the sensor FFS why would the fan still not cut in?

Anyone got a spare one they don't want from a thermostat housing kicking about, I guess they are all the same for all CVH's

Infact, I need 2 now
