please help

i have bought a CVH34 kent cam kit and adjustable pulley

iam a mechanic so i know how to fit it no problem as i have fitted many standard cams but never a proformance cam and i have been told it will need dialing in. and why can i not use the standard markings (the head has never been skimmed)

please could you tell me how this is done
