hi stoo,

just make sure that you have 12volts to main red wire all the time, and when your cranking the engine over (or trying to) that you have a good 12volts to that small wire , if so its the starter

but if not, that small wire goes straight to the ign switch, and just see wot your getting there, if you have power there when cranking then its a break in the wire, if no power then your ign switch has died.

ps i think that small wire changes colour at the ign switch its black and red that the starter but white and black that the ign switch (i think), because it activets other module and relays through S-120 but do worry about that bit its still a basic stright wire.
