I think it's a money thing with Phil to be honest...

He's stated many a time he's sorta well off and can do what he pleases upto a certain extent, yet he buy's reasonably cheap bikes, when he bought the binliner it was not a very new or very trick one, the seems to be done to a budget as well (hence DIY?) and he just doesn't want to spend the dosh on proper brakes.

Phil is all about keeping up appearances: of being a hard man, of being a rich man, of being a knowledgable one and so on whilst infact he's a friendly, caring, very sensitive bloke with enough money to play but deffo not in the big league, that knows quite a few facts about YB's but is nowhere near a tuner.

Probably if you met him in a pub he'd seem a normal, likeable fellar too!

Now if this doesn't get him to bite....
