It has two sides really - Can be very interesting as you work on lots of different projects and with the architects etc... especially if you work on the consulting side..

On the other hand, you are just a kind of construction accountant... work with numbers/bugdets all day - this will be especially evident if you work for a contractor as you will spend many days measuring pieces of drainpipe/counting bricks!!!

Overall, i find it really interesting and there is a mass shortage of QS's so the pay is great with options of going abroad - dubai, rebuilding tsunami hit areas etc...
