if you have a real problem getting washers, clean up the old ones then heat them with a blowtorch to glowing red and let them cool. That will anneal them (soften them) and allow you to use them again with a good chance of sealing. (assuming they are not completely squashed or mishapen to start with)
Trying to reuse old (work hardened) washers will almost certainly end in tears and leaks
