depends what kinda bass you want whether it should be ported or not and the manufacturuer of the sub will recommend a cu/ft for the optimum sound.

altho with 2 x 12 inch subs, you should DEFINITELY get a ported box and probably some neons and some friends that hang outside mcdonalds a lot

I find my 10 incher performs perfectly in a sealed box.

Never had any complaints.
