Gareth,
My ideal solution will be drive by wire - I.E. Throttle body controlled by a stepper motor.
I have engaged an engineer to fit such a motor on a throttle body and once
he has sorted this I will develop the software.
This will allow complete removal of the idle valve, ALS valve, throttle cable.
The benfits will be mapped throttle position versus boost/rpm curves.
This has performance, emissions, and turbo anti surge benefits !!
Andreas,
I am afraid I am not an expert in this area, Just developing my ecu software
to allow others to do ALS.
I would guess ALS is usefull to any turbo provide it has been set up properly
and has the ability to withstand the high temperatures.
Everyone will have different opinions on wether or not ALS is any good or not.
Maybe not on a road car but it sure sounds good
