Not had my haynes manual arrive yet so I have no idea how to adjust my idle speed..... I've just bought a new iscv on my lunch hour but if I can sort it without that I'll just take it back.

How exactly do you set idle speed on the Zetec, anyone?

My exact symptoms here are that when I start up the car it seems fine in neutral, with or without electrical stuff on, but then as soon as I put it in first or reverse, it drops the revs, spluttering all the way down to cutting out.

If I've got the car out driving and I slow down at a junction it dies sometimes, and like this morning when I was doing a slow 1st and 2nd gear crawl in traffic it cut out. At one point there was a bit of space to move into the next lane and the car just started jerking when I put my foot down to move into it.

When it's warmed up and been running for a good while it doesn't seem to happen much, but it does still happen occaisionally. I cleaned out my iscv last night so if it is that, it's better to just replace it I think.
