well, i had another look the other day, and still didnt get anywhere.

basically, if i have the temp sensor plugged in, the battery wont charge.
with it unplugged, if i switch on the ignition the needle rises off the scale, and when the engine starts, it drops back down to nothing.

i have also since found that if i turn the key 1 notch to listen o the radio, the recepton is good.

but if i turn to position 2, it goes all shit and static interferance...
