if you havent, try both and then try pinging the router. one of my customers is having the exact same problem that the pc isnt recognising the connection and its turned out to be windows thats the problem.
I did try that at the time, although not very methodically i must admit
I'm going to buy another kit tommorrow - ive returned the others, surprise i met a few others at the customer services desk doing the same

- so i'll see how it goes.
