Ahh read it properly now "EFI"

The EFI system has an idle speed control valve (controlled by the ecu) that varies the ammount of air entering the engine when the throttle is shut. If it running poor from cold it could be the coolant temp sensor goving the ecu the wrong reading therefore the ecu will be injecting the wrond ammount of fuel. The idle speed control valve could also cause your fault, its located on the left hand side of the manifold (looking from the front). Best bet would be to remove it and give it a clean out with some carb cleaner, see if the starting improves.
