yeah its easy mate, ive done it two ways, the first time i took it off at the head with the manifold on, took the alternator off and header tank and took it out from the left of the engine bay,

the other day i replaced my turbo and thought i would have a try at the 4 bolts which go through the turbo and the manifold and they came undone!, took me 20 mins to do it this way, one of the bolts are hard to get to, but i got there in the end!

as long as u have a t3 from a s2 they are a straight swap, i would get a new manifold gasket if u take it off from the head and also a oil drainage pipe gasket from the turbo if u take the pipe off
