Oven cleaner is a good idea. I just think that a meticulous clean one afternoon can bring up the bay beautifully.

The problem with the S1 bay is that there was a lot of sloppy work from Ford originally, around the strut tops, on the inner wings etc - brush marks everywhere so it's either clean them and keep original or paint them and restore.

I think originality is very important with the S1. The chrome bays on the S2 look fabulous - take T28 RST's red S2 above - stunning. I just dont think personally that the S1 suits the chrome as much.

There's a hell of a lot of shitter S1's remaining now, the original ones are becoming very hard to track down - I looked for a long long time, I almost made my mind up that I would have to extensively restore one before I found the one I purchased - https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=109915

I only know of a handful of original mint cars, one sold up in Scotland last week we believe for 8K, MikeyXR2i refused 10K for his sub 30K car a couple of weeks ago, then there's Mike's non-custom over in Yorkshire - absolutely mint and original, fireandskill1's car - https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=111366 - amazing condition also.

Keep it mint mate, and sit back and watch the prices rise as the shitters die off.
