Can you describe in more detail? does it replcae the bottom plate or something?

OK..........You still keep the bottom plate/cover but you then ADD a stainless steel flange piece where the two join together, and then bolt the three pieces together very tight. It works because the original soft alloy casing would otherwise start to crack at the weakest point - the edge near the bolt holes. The s/steel plate prevents this from happening.
