Wow 13 year old thread revival

my mate has rebuilt a 1991 EFI xr3i that’s been off the road since 2003….

went to fire it up on Monday was a pig to start but eventually was running aided with easy start at the beginning.

this has been a fully engine rebuild as it came with no engine so it’s been a Nitemare finding correct parts etc

any ways Monday evening it was running although fuel was lean on cylinder 4 so knocked it off and thought we will investigate late.

Came to car next day fired straight up. And ticked over high circa 1800rpm revved up fine off the throttle body

left it ticking over till fan kicked in and engine was sweet for a full rebuilt cvh even cylinder ; was running as when unplugged the injector etc you could hear the engine note change.

knocked it off let it cool down and thought will fit the exhaust as this was all done with just the down pipe on

exhaust fitted went to start was a pig to start eventually ran but poorly started wondering about back pressure etc.

any ways car won’t fire now what so ever

exhaust was removed
timing is spot on
there is a spark at plugs
Pump primes you can hear it and the relay clicks

cracked the feed to fuel rail and upon putting ignition on so prime pump buzzes but no fuel ?? Tryed this 4/( times cycling ignition and eventually on 1 cycle some fuel came through ?.

went to crank engine no fuel immediately but then started coming through ??

all new tank
Pump
lines
fuel filter and yes fitted correct way

surely there should be good pressure every time the ignition is cycled to the rail feed.

need to check power to injectors etc but concerned regarding the fuel pressure

it’s a Loong time since I have played with with xr3i

so any and all advice help greatly appreciated guys
