I bought the car from Timsrs in Derby, thank you for the pleasant sale. I took in to West Midalnds.
As someone correctly said i am or was Ducktin on the Escort Cosworth Forum.
I did not list it for sale on Pistonheads. I sold it before November 2013, for i think only a couple of grand more than i paid you timsrs so i too missed the 'shot up in value time unfortunately'!
I never advertised it anywhere, i messaged someone on the Escort Cosworth Forum who i think had put out a wanted message, or asked about one on there for sale?
Nice bloke who came in a Porsche SUV, think he said he owned other Porsches. I'm as positive as i can be i saw the buyer on an Episode of Wheeler Dealers when they did a Porsche and Mike Brewer drove it with some other Porsche owners, one of which being the guy who bought N3RSO from me.
Tale as old of time... had kids knew i would not have the free time to use it. Always wanted one having previously owned Fiesta and Escort RS Turbos. Went on to own a Ford Focus 2.5 St. Think the picture of it at the show was when i owned it. Took it to a few Ford shows.
Loved the Escort but only used it for fun and did not enjoy wrapping it in bubble wrap or worrying about finding parts like when on a spirited drive the splitter catches the ground on a dip. Only marked it slightly.
I sourced and fitted an accurate remake of the original black plastic Turbo shield, think i replaced a thermostat and rad fans, oh and fitted a brand new header tank and cap from Ford. Sold it with the Mongoose exhaust still fitted but the original standard exhaust went with the car on the flat bed that collected it in the pouring rain.
I see it went years after me without being mot'd but has been mot'd in 2024 and 2025.
Talking about old cars had me google the reg and found this thread.
Would love to see recent pictures of it. Shame the Pistonheads for sale link someone attached to this thread no longer works.
