Well the Escort is coming up to nearly 12 months of ownership for me and it has cost a small fortune but its now MOT ready and although my first mechanic charged me the earth I have now found a fantastic local (ish chap)

Usually the car gets hot and runs towards the H on the temp guage (H as in HIGH) but on Friday i took it out, 12 miles in and as soon as i came off the Motorway it went right through the red... I quickly stopped, no steam nothing looked out of the ordinary but...
The fans were not working... It has a twin fan set up.
Can anyone share the electric diagrams for the fans, i have checked where the fuse' should be and they are all ok but as this is a ZVH i am thinking maybe the electronics over the years are not great so as well as knowing about the fans has anyone ever replaced a loom??
Maybe i am going too deep into this -Any ideas as i will try anything....
