Does anyone know if it’s possible to fit a gearbox into a 2007 1.8 Zetec Focus (IB5 gearbox) from another model (Mondeo?) that has a better final drive ratio
Hoping to try and do something to improve poor fuel economy and calm the engine fuel a bit on motorways
As far as I can tell, the 1.8 & 2.0 petrol Focus have a 4.06 FDR, the 1.8 tdi has a 3.41 and the 1.8 Mondeo a 3.82
Would fitting the diesel or Mondeo box (if possible) make a noticeable difference?
