Hi Lee

Thanks for the reply.

I have my CSC set up with a 19mm spacer and the release bearing is just touching the pressure plate fingers. It works perfectly, disengages early and is light. But my issue is that if the clutch cover is not self adjusting (SAC) then the fingers are going to move towards the CSC over time and the clutch will slowly disengage then slip because the CSC is already at full retraction. With a smaller spacer, say 12mm then I would have 7mm of retraction to play with but would loose 7mm of slave travel. Plus I would have to buy and fit a smaller spacer. If the cover is an SAC then the fingers stay static during the life of the clutch and happy days.

I asked if the Mk1 Mondeo clutch is hydraulic or not because most modern hydraulic systems use a SAC pressure plate.

Is the Pinto cover self adjusting?

All the best

Berni
