Default Ford Focus Mk2 - 1.6TDCI - P0299 Fault - Engine Malfunction

Hi.

I own a 2011 Mk2 Focus - 1.6 TDCI engine.

I'm currently having problems when accelerating hard or when climbing hills. The car will enter limp mode and an Engine Malfunction light appears of the dash. If I turn the car off and on, it will reset and drive normally again.

Current DTC codes; P0299 and P0490.

The issue first started around March of this year, but then went away in April and only came back a few weeks ago.

I had a look through the forums initially and have since replaced the solenoid valve at the back of the engine and have also replaced the fuel filter. This has made a slight difference, but the fault still remains. The car was serviced recently, so it has had a new air filter as well. I have checked the air intake, I could not see any damage/splits, but it is quite dirty with oil - not sure if this is coming from the PCV valve/pipe and if this could be causing the issue?

I had a feel around the intercooler hoses and couldn't feel any damage to these either.

I have purchased a Vgate vLinker and downloaded Forscan, but I'm not sure what data I should be running to help identify the potential problem.

Any suggestions/advice about where I should look next would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
