Default Ford Ka no power to the starter.

Hi all.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

So i got a call from the missus this morning saying her 2007 1.3 zetec wouldn't start, AA guy came out and told her it had a bad starter (towed the car home).

I got home and took the starter off, The solanoid was stuck solid and the motor wasn't in great shape either (got very hot if i bypassed the solanoid) so i picked a new one up from Eurocar parts and fitted it........ still doesn't start.

Kinda given up for the day but before i came in i stuck a multimeter on it and noticed there is no power to the trigger wire on the starter, had a quick look through the fuses and couldn't see any blown.

I'm no expert on Ka's but i'm thinking either an Immobilizer issue or a starter relay burnt out?? only thought about the immobilizer when i came in so i couldn't say if the flashing light went out or not when i turned the ignition on (i will check that tomorrow) i only have the basic manual that comes with the car so it doesn't tell me where the relays are?? i noticed three relays fixed to the firewall behind the battery could it be one of those?? i would not be shocked if it's blown something the state the starter was in but i'm praying it's not a module or something like that.

Ironically this is the car thats never let us down in the 10 years we have owned it so i don't mind giving it some tlc.

Any idea??

Thanks.
Chris
