i dont sorn mine i never have i use it all year round if its dry. i say i would sell it but when it comes to the crunch im not sure if i could ive had it for twenty five years. but the thing is im not comfortable with owning such an exspenive car i didnt know what to do with it when the time comes. ive two daughters but wouldnt be fair with the maintanance of such a vehicle. when my grandson came along it was more of a relief i could pass it on to him he's car mad but he's only five ive also two grandaughters. and to leave him such an exspensive car wouldnt be fair. the prices could go both ways in years to come. another thing is what is it worth like you said an agreed now is a must. i valued it last year between 25-30k this is a hole new discussion what are saffs and three doors worth now. you cant go by milleage there was no such thing as vehicle data base untill recent years for milleage checks. im a profeesional panal beater sprayer some of the cossies on various sites ive seen restored they have taught them selfs to weld at the start of the there projects. no lead work which is a must for water ingress ive seen arches only tacked on. redoxide used as primer which it could be but not with some paint schemes. primer base coat solid cclour clear coat has to be compatable. when some paint cures it will except most things but alot doesnt. some unlucky soul is going to pay a fortune for a cossie and within a couple of yeasr theyle end up with blistering cracking paint. ive seen it before ive been asked to do reports on restored cars and put right and you strip the paint agian and see the mess
Hi Ray, I see in your other post you have installed your new wiring loom which is good. My car has 90% original Ford Diamond white from 1990 and the bodywork is still in vgc which I am sure is down to the fact it was properly waxoyled from nearly new. Mine is currently agreed value of £27k but I think it needs to be higher now.The biggest problem with a 2wd Saff now is finding some spare bodywork etc parts.
