Yep - i think that they are picking on the smallest things.
Some great news though. I found the engine number as stated above the water pump. Thing is, it was not obvious at all with the metal face not grimy but I decided to attack it with some meths and I saw a speck of a number and kept on going. After a few minutes of what seemed like wasted rubbing, the number started to appear. The block is a YBP so it has been changed at some point.
Many thanks to all who contributed - job done (onto the next issue to get the car registered for the road)!
The last time I was visiting my Brother-in law in Adelaide I went to a good car show with him and there was 1 Sapphire Cosworth on display which the guy had imported from the UK which was road registered but not sure what is needed in WA compared to South Australia.Hope it goes ok and you can start showing some of the Aussie muscle cars how well a little 4 cylinder Cosworth engined car can perform!!
