Just joined the forum, and wanted to introduce myself...

I'm a long time Euro Ford fan, starting with a Mk1 Capri back in the 1980's, and briefly owned a Mk1 Cortina in the late 1990s. I had been looking for another Capri for a long time, but Mk1s are now quite rare in the US. A bit over a year ago, I found a candidate for restoration. Well, that one has been sitting, waiting for me to start work on it, and in the meantime I've acquired another Mk1.

The recently acquired Mk1 is a track car, powered by a Cossie YB which is the main reason I'm here. The YB series never officially came to the US, and are even more rare here than Mk1 Capris. I'm sure I will have plenty of Cosworth related questions as I move forward with the car.

Without further blathering, here are a few pics:







The Cosworth is a high compression N/A build, though I'm still working on determining some of the specifications. I'm also still sorting the jetting for our altitude (5000ft), but it feels like it's making decent power. Long term plans include conversion to EFI and probably lots of other insanity.

This car is going to be mostly for car shows, the occasional Sunday drive, and some infrequent track work. Infrequent, because although we are pretty serious about our racing, our primary track car is an MX-5 (you may have spotted our street MX-5 hiding behind the Capri in the above pic).



For now, they are cohabitating peacefully in the garage.
