Brake and fuel line Installation from Scratch
Hi All
I would like to build and assemble my own brake and fuel line installation on my sapph basically starting from scratch. No exhisting pipes to match up from.. I have all the clips but no lines
So I'm basically going to be looking at alot of pictures online to match up routing of the entire two systems.
Routing
to route pipes my plan is to first establish the layout and all the bends using flexible fence wire and then mock the brake and fuel lines against this. Has anyone tried this with success?
Pipe Material
What is best material and what size lines should I be using for brake lines and then likewise for fuel lines. Just keeping to the standard and norm. Ie no poly lines only between connections where required.
Flaring of Brake lines
What types of Flaring ends should I be doing on the brake line components standard wise. is there more than one standard type on this vehicle and where?
Flaring and bending tools
What be the best economical choice here my thoughts are
Flaring tool - I was thinking Draper 23312. It's like block with a handle on one end
mini pipe cutter
Deburring tool
micro pipe bender
pipe straightener
brake line spanner / wrench set
anything else?
Brake line connector fasteners
What size and standard should I be looking for. Thinking to buy one of these fastener kits that has a whole bunch of bits
Fuel line connections
what is best? AN fittings? and what size should I look for or do should i be looking for thosr push and lock jobbies
What colour are the brake lines painted and what colour are the fuel lines painted?
Anything else I should consider or keep in kind?
Cheers
