These firms do check social media platforms incase of fraud.

I'd find a firm, one man band outfit that does glass replacement. Many years ago I needed one and the guy went to a scrap yard to remove and refit for me.
Hi Mark that suggestion is a good shout, many of the car recycling places would probably have good windows /windscreens to fit his car at a lot less cost than a new one. I cannot see how an Insurance company would pay for a new one when the car has been off the road for a fair while and then as soon as the new insurance is paid for ,a claim is put in for a new windscreen. I guess good luck to him if he can do it and no questions are asked.
