best paint for underneath iron work wish bones etc
with the amount of restos ive whatched on here i would love to no what paint has stayed the test of time im looking at restos at the mow going to 2007. alot of peeps have painted there gear box casings and cylinder heads with silver paint also diffs i just cant see that staying there as a car sprayer i no about refinishing how the fuk would key a surface like a cylinder head in all the nooks and crannys especialy things that get hot and cold quick. vapour blasting maybe not seen anyone keying up a cylinder head to key the surface for painting with that method. im not nocking it i would love to spray my cylinder head silver and the likes but if it starts cracking and coming of what a fukin mess your left with i just cant see it staying there i might be wrong. whats the best paint and method for swinging arms anti roll bar hubs. we all no about powder coating sand blasted first they usually use a zinc primmer then the black powder coat. is there a tryed and tested do it your self at home job. i painted my rear arms on my saff ten years ago i ground all the paint of and put a rust stabiliser on them first the stuff that turns purple. i used a metal primmer and a gloss black both made by fortress ive only seen it in b&q its stayed the test of time its nearly as good as when it was first done it no bubling no rusting. now i need to do my front hubs anti roll bar things like that but i wont be able to prep them as good as there not as flat as the rear arms. what have other peeps done that stayed the test of time what products did you use withought powder coating
