Mk1 Fiesta Braking Solutions
Hello all,
I have a 1978 1.6l mk1 Fiesta that is fully race prepped for the Sport Car Club of America(SCCA) Improved Touring C(ITC) class. I'm hoping to get the car out for its first track day in 9+ years in 2022. The brakes on these cars have always been an issue for people racing them. No one makes a track capable front pad for it anymore (at least in the United States), so in the past we'd buy other pads and have them custom cut to fit the car. The braking was still not very good. Do any fellow mk1 people have any input on rotor/caliper combinations they use?? I have stacks of 13 inch wheels so I would really prefer to be able to use those and find a combination that fits in those wheels. I have read on other forums that the Mazda RX7 rear pads fit the Fiesta front calipers but I'm skeptical...Also have heard of people finding vented front rotors. Thanks for the feedback in advance...
Cheers,
