Has anyone ever claimed on an insurance policy months after an incident?
I am going to contact the company obviously but wondering if anyone knows a bit about it.

basically in April my S4 was stolen. The police were informed and I got a crime number and all that but the car was never recovered. I never did anything about it because I thought it wasn’t insured but it turns out it was still insured as they’ve just sent a renewal through to my dad. Turns out he had paid the policy last year not realising what car it was for when they sent a late payment notice.
Where do I stand with claiming? Has anyone had similar or any advice before I dig out the details and contact them
