its all well and good looking from the outside in but in essence money has got a lot to do with putting on these events, giving an example moons ago when I was involved with the RSOC at club level the southern branches of the club wanted to put on a southern regional day as apart from when Mark Sawyers did a couple of regional days at snakey lane most RSOC regional events are up north or far from reach for a lot of members from the south, Brands Hatch was one venue that was approached but if I recall correctly they wanted 40 thousand pounds for the use of the circuit and on top of that they wanted a cut of what was taken at the gate too, that is/was no small amount of money so I dread to think what silverstone want to hold ford fair and or any other events so respectfully bare that in mind before you jump to criticism

its one of the biggest shows so will attract fords newer cars, just like when cosworths were new, i bet people were sick of seeing them.
indeed and I agree with you 100%, I moved onto a MK2 Focus rs from my Sapphire Cosworth and I have to say I’ve not looked back, I’m not part of the Rev and pop brigade by no means but if newer cars are taking over a little bit what can you do? I bet all the MK1 & MK2 Escort crew were sick of cossies when they came out with one clubs slogan “plastic is not fantastic” and “no cossies or rs turbos allowed” Cosworths have risen sharply in price these days and new parts are almost non existent so I don’t blame owners for using them sparingly

a very capable car with a fantastic chassis, they make a shit driver a very good driver so I’ve been told lol with regards to modding them it must been done properly and not on the cheap or the chance of the engine going bang becomes a real reality. I almost bought a red edition when I came back from the ford Isle of Wight takeover event in 2018, I got in a pals one on the island that was running a Mountune 400 map on it and I was blown away by how well the car went and handled. The mk3 imo just falls down on the looks department, it’s not as sexy as a MK2 lol
