Hi, recently bought an 07 ranger 2.5 tdci 4x4. Bought it with an engine knock and owner saying it s main bearing.
Took engine out opened it and found the main bearing for connecting rod number 1 missing I mean completely missing. NO Trace of the bearing at all. The rest are worn but present. Crank is marked too.
What are the odds of it. Completely perished and not someone removed it?

Also should I skim the crank or replace new ones on ebay are around 350pounds
