Hello,

My Girlfriend's Ford Focus (Mk II 2008 1.6 Zetec Manual) has a gearbox oil leak from the Right drive shaft oil seal. I want to change the oil seal. I believe the gearbox is the IB5 type.

Do I have to detach the driveshaft from the wheel knuckle/hub to do this ? I would prefer not to do this if at all possible.

If I do not have to detach the driveshaft from the wheel knuckle/hub, do I have to detach the steering track rod end, for extra mobility for the wheel knuckle/hub.

I plan to detach the lower arm from the wheel knuckle/hub, prior to removing the driveshaft from the gearbox.
