Every now and again something prompts me to Google the reg C199 LGF to see if there's any more info. Did it today and found the thread on here where someone had posted a pic of his dad with the car in 1993. Well I think it's about time I at least add a bit to the history as I was lucky enough to own it for a while and there seems to be interest in the history and I'd love to find out the latest!

I live in Blackpool. I bought it from a lad who owned a local garage in around 2002, I think. My memory is bad, dates and info is going to be sketchy! He had bought it in an already good spec and spent a lot of time making it mint. He had a bare shell respray done in Ford mercury grey. So yes it was the only one to be grey, but I can confirm it had subsequently been resprayed at least once! It looked awesome though.

I can't remember the exact spec, it did have some sort of original Ford Motorsport exhaust, the recaro's were re-trimmed in grey leather and it was rolling roaded at about 220bhp. I didn't mess with it too much whilst I owned it, I can't take any credit for the work that had been done to it. There was a shed load of paperwork with it including its appearance in performance ford.

Unbelievably, within a week of owning it, someone keyed the bonnet whilst it was parked outside the pub. I was using it as a daily driver and from what I remember it never missed a beat or gave me any trouble. But the body work started to get a bit chipped from driving it about and I didn't have a garage to keep it in so I sold it on. One of life's regrets! But I knew I couldn't look after it.

A lad called Max bought it from me, his family owned a local Ford garage. I've seen him mentioned on threads related to the motor before so maybe he's a regular member here?

Anyway, I was lucky enough to own it probably for about 8-10 months, maybe a year. I'd owned a couple of series 2's before the S1. Not had anything as interesting since. Maybe if I win the Euro tonight I'll own one again.

Hopefully someone can update with where c199 LGF is at now?
