Default MK4 Escort RS Turbo boot & petrol locks

I'm just finishing restoring a S2 RST and I'm have a few issues with some of the locks, and hoping somewhere here could help please.

I've got an original Ford petrol cap repair kit - the lock builds up with a small silver cap that goes on the top of the lock where the key goes in. Now on the factory locks this is crimped into place - does anyone know how you do this? I assume Ford must have allowed for this otherwise why supply the kit - without the cap in place the lock just falls apart!

Boot lock - I've got a nos boot lock I need to re-code to my key number. Does anyone know how to dismantle the lock? I know how to change the lock wafers to fit my key, but I can't figure out how to dismantle the lock without damaging it!

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated
