I assume you can't use a Cossy / UK Pinto style sump on the Lima engine ?
That's the million dollar question isn't it? I'm thinking of maybe cutting the top off of the 2.3 oil pan and the 4x4 oil pan then welding the 2.3 top to the rest of the 4x4.
Here are the oil pans next to each other. The 2.3 on the left and the 4x4 on the right or I could go through expensive route and design a new one which will work.
