it needs taken out car and pulling apart bores will need to be checked for marks/scoren etc etc.. without lookn at it in bits you will never know but the head you had rebuilt will need doing again the camshaft and lifters etc would of suffered with no oil. dependn how good you are at doing stuff it can be done at home but if you carnt it may just pay you to buy another engine and slip it in you no
Thanks mate. The plan was to learn on the cvh get it running then in the future save up and build a 2l for it ( problem is i have no experience and have to learn it all myself ).
What other parts should i change/check when i have the engine out , mainly on the bottom end - i now have a little knowledge on the top. Gutter though.
