ANY modifications must be declared to your insurance, OE or not. It affects the cost of repairing your vehicle. Also it will give the company a clear reason to refuse to pay. You will also technically be uninsured therefore 6 points, impounded car and a fine.
Tell the insurance company and don’t be another one of the uninsured muppets out there.
